Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an Orthopedic RN for a travel assignment in Maryville, Tennessee. This role supports a post-operative orthopedic unit focused on joint replacements, ortho trauma, and recovery-based patient care in a med/surg setting. POSITION OVERVIEW This assignment is ideal for nurses with strong orthopedic or med/surg experience who are comfortable managing post-op patients, pain control, and mobility-focused recovery plans. ASSIGNMENT DETAILS • 13-week contract • Night shift 3x12s (18:45–07:15) • Patient ratio: 1:6 • Weekend requirement: every other • Floating required within scope • 1 position available COMPENSATION Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, our recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during your initial conversation. Each compensation package is customized and may include taxable hourly wages along with tax-free stipends when applicable. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide care for post-operative orthopedic patients • Manage joint replacements and ortho trauma cases • Administer medications and monitor pain control • Perform wound care and post-surgical assessments • Assist with mobility and rehabilitation goals • Monitor for complications and escalate care as needed • Document all care in Epic EMR system WORK ENVIRONMENT • Acute care hospital setting • Orthopedic surgery / med-surg unit • Adult and geriatric patient population • Medication system: Omnicell Heartline Staffing is a Strategic Talent Partner with Purple Cow Recruiting. Requirements
- Minimum 1 year Orthopedic or Med/Surg RN experience REQUIRED
- Travel experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP)
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS REQUIRED (in hand at submission)
- EPIC experience REQUIRED (1+ year)
- Active TN RN license or compact license REQUIRED
- Must be comfortable with post-op orthopedic patients
- First-time travelers NOT accepted
