About The Position

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible role for a Float Clinician I, serving as a Travel Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA). New graduates are welcome. The role involves providing a full range of reproductive health services, including contraceptive care, STI testing and treatment, gender-affirming services, and preventive care. The clinician will travel to various health centers, supporting patient care at local, regional, and affiliate locations. The position offers a higher base hourly wage, robust training, paid travel time, mileage reimbursement, and a float differential. Upon completion of training and a positive review, clinicians are promoted to Float Clinician II.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), Women’s Health NP (WHNP), or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) program.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice in the state of California.
  • Board Certification
  • CPR/BLS certification (current or within 30 days of hire).
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to thrive in a team-based environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows-based systems)

  • Experience in reproductive health, OB/GYN, gender-affirming care, or family planning.
  • Commitment to providing care that is respectful, inclusive, and affirming to all patients.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret the medical and social history of both male and female reproductive health patients.
  • Perform appropriate medical screening procedures/exams for both male and female patients.
  • Interpret laboratory data, order additional laboratory investigations when indicated and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Provide a full range of contraceptive methods, including self-administered options and injections.
  • Perform medical assessment and management of basic STI and genito-urinary conditions for both male and female patients.
  • Provide medication abortion, as indicated.
  • Prescribe and educate on emergency contraception.
  • Diagnose and treat uncomplicated STIs and genitourinary conditions.
  • Perform wart treatment and basic dermatological procedures.
  • Provide gender-affirming hormone therapy and related care.
  • Offer premenopausal and menopausal health services.
  • Act as a medical consultant to clinic staff.
  • Manage emergency situations in the health center.
  • Participate in staff meetings relating to center management and provides staff training in current medical procedures which are relevant to reproductive health.
  • Contribute to achieving health center productivity goals.
  • Demonstrate PPMM customer service standards.
  • Assist in other areas of center support work as required.
  • Conduct and interpret medical histories for sexual and reproductive health visits.
  • Perform pelvic and breast exams, Pap smears, and other screening procedures.
  • Order and interprets laboratory tests; ensure timely follow-up.
  • Manage urgent health situations that arise during clinic operations.
  • Act as a clinical resource for medical assistants and support staff.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to clinic productivity and quality benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.
