About The Position

Best Practice Medicine is seeking qualified Travel EMTs for a 3-6-month assignment in Virginia in a fast-paced, demanding IFT environment with a leading EMS system. Requirements

1+ years experience as an EMT
National Registry: EMT (NREMT)
American Heart Association: BLS (AHA BLS)
Current Immunizations (MMR, Hep B, TDAP)
Negative TB test within the last 12 months

Nice To Haves

5+ years of experience in a busy 911 system as an EMT
Average work tenure of three years
Previous traveller experience with Best Practice Medicine

Responsibilities

Respond to emergencies and administer pre-hospital care in response to IFT and 911 calls.
Coordinate directly with law enforcement agencies and perform vital patient assessments.
Deliver basic life support (BLS), conduct pharmaceutical interventions, and perform CPR during critical cardiac, toxicological, and neurological emergencies.
Maintain ambulance safety protocols and ensure all medical supplies are stocked and ready for action.
Evaluating the emergency scene for safety and determining the nature and severity of a patient's injury or illness.
Recording observations, treatments, and patient history, and clearly relaying this information to receiving doctors and nurses.
Inspecting the ambulance and medical equipment to ensure the vehicle is clean, sanitized, and fully stocked for the next emergency call.
Must possess the flexibility to relocate and the clinical agility to integrate instantly into new emergency response teams. A proactive attitude toward shifting schedules and diverse patient demographics is essential.
