About The Position
Centurion is seeking a full-time Director of Nursing to join their Centurion Eagles Travel Team. This role involves working between various Department of Corrections facilities across the United States, offering convenient block scheduling, outstanding benefits, and exceptional compensation. The position is 75% travel and requires directing the full nursing team, providing clinical, educational, and professional supervision for nursing and support staff in a correctional environment. The Traveling DON works under the direction of the contract manager and collaborates with mental health/medical leadership and other members of the multidisciplinary team to improve the healthcare of incarcerated patients.
Requirements
- Must hold valid Compact (multi-state) Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States
- Progressive experience in nursing care with a minimum of five years of supervisory experience preferred
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred but not required
- Experience in examining operations, formulating, developing and implementing new strategies and procedures preferred
- Corrections, forensics or criminal justice experience preferred
- Previous travel experience preferred
