Travel Data Center Technician
About The Position
NTT is assembling a specialized team of experienced Level II Data Center Technicians to support a fiber migration initiative for a major customer. The project upgrades existing coaxial cabling infrastructure to fiber optic technology at multiple locations. Technicians will be the first deployed to new sites, establishing processes, procedures, and best practices during the initial 6–8 weeks of each deployment. After a site launches and transitions to ongoing support teams, the team moves to another location. Between deployments, technicians support operations at NTT data centers in their home markets. The role involves 75% nationwide travel and 25% home-market work. It is a contract position based in Lincoln, Nebraska, and is fully onsite. The listed pay range is $30.00–$35.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Strong troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience working in data center environments.
- A solid understanding of structured cabling and fiber infrastructure.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in data center operations and infrastructure support.
- Experience with fiber optic and structured cabling installations.
- Experience with cable testing, troubleshooting, and remediation.
- Experience working independently in new environments.
Responsibilities
- Support fiber migration projects by replacing legacy coaxial infrastructure with fiber optic cabling.
- Lead initial project deployments and establish site processes and standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cabling and connectivity issues.
- Work with project teams to support successful site launches.
- Travel to project locations nationwide as needed.
- Support day-to-day data center operations when not assigned to a deployment project.
