About The Position

Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Travel Coordinator in our Norfolk, Virginia location. This role coordinates travel itineraries, ensuring all arrangements align with client preferences and company policies. The Travel Coordinator supervises travel staff, providing training and guidance to ensure high-quality service and efficient operations. They also manage travel inventory, including booking systems and vendor relationships, to secure the best rates and services. The position involves communicating with clients to understand their travel needs and preferences, providing personalized recommendations, and developing and maintaining travel schedules to ensure timely departures and arrivals. Additionally, the role includes monitoring travel expenses and budgets, preparing reports to meet financial targets, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. The Travel Coordinator will resolve travel-related issues, such as cancellations or changes, promptly and professionally. Staying updated on travel trends, regulations, and best practices is crucial, as is assisting in the development of travel policies and procedures to enhance overall travel management efficiency. Collaboration with other departments is necessary to ensure seamless integration of travel plans with business objectives and schedules.

Requirements

  • Must have bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant technical or operational experience; OR Associate degree with 8 years of relevant experience; OR High School diploma/equivalent with 10 years of relevant technical or operational experience.
  • Must have proficiency in travel booking software and online platforms (e.g., Sabre, Amadeus, or Concur)
  • Must have strong organizational skills to handle multiple travel itineraries and schedules
  • Must have excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, suppliers, and team members
  • Must pay attention to detail to ensure accuracy in travel arrangements and documentation
  • Must have problem-solving abilities to address and resolve travel-related issues efficiently
  • Must possess Knowledge of travel regulations, visa requirements, and industry trends
  • Must have ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be able to demonstrate customer service orientation to enhance the travel experience for clients
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards, and naval installations.
