About The Position

Amex GBT is seeking a Travel Consultant II to join their U.S. Military and Government team in Dallas, TX. This role specializes in providing seamless travel management services to federal clients, focusing on defense and government travelers. The Travel Consultant will offer outstanding customer service before, during, and after business trips, utilizing innovative technology and strong people skills to ensure an unforgettable travel experience.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years' experience working as a Travel Consultant (or 5 years in another customer service industry).
  • Advanced knowledge of GDS (Sabre).
  • U.S. citizenship required due to Federal Government contract.
  • A genuine passion for high-quality customer service.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • A positive, “can do” attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • Military experience/certifications accepted as a substitute for some requirements.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen; authorization to work in the United States alone is not sufficient.
  • Employment is contingent upon the ability to meet government eligibility requirements, including the successful completion of both company and government background investigations, which may include a review of criminal history and credit records.

Responsibilities

  • Create domestic and international travel arrangements for clients, including air, hotel, rail, and ground transportation.
  • Ensure reservations are built according to client standards and preferences.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by offering informed and insightful recommendations for the best travel experience.
  • Handle a wide range of bookings, from simple to complex, including non-standard and multi-destination itineraries, ticket exchanges, and complex fares.
  • Make changes or solve issues that may occur during or before travel assignments, including routine and non-routine work.
