About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support for research and grant funded projects within Secondary Special Education & Transition (SSET) and the Disability Early Intervention Secondary Transition & Youth (DESTNY) grant management unit. The Travel and Business Operations Coordinator coordinates travel, events, meetings, and day to day administrative operations; provides business and fiscal processing support; and assists faculty and project staff with research, technical assistance, and data related activities. This position will coordinate multiple priorities, working closely with faculty, staff, and campus partners to ensure effective program operations and compliance with university policies and procedures. Travel and Business Operations Coordinator uses their skills in program coordination, research support, and grant administration to support and coordinate on mission driven projects that support youth with disabilities.

Requirements

  • Two years of general clerical experience.
  • One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR An Associate's degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience.
  • College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Proficiency with common office and data management tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and shared file systems (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, exercising sound judgment and discretion.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with faculty, staff, students, partners, and the public.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and apply university policies with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage information accurately and maintain confidentiality in accordance with institutional requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing administrative support in a higher education, research, or public service environment.
  • Experience coordinating travel, meetings, conferences, or training events.
  • Experience supporting research based, grant funded, or externally funded projects.
  • Experience with administrative and business processes such as purchasing, reimbursements, contracts, or tracking expenditures in accordance with established procedures and within sponsored project timelines and budgets.
  • Experience working with data collection or management tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Excel, databases, or reporting systems).
  • Experience working in a collaborative office environment supporting multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working with or supporting programs that serve diverse populations or focus on education, disability, or youth services.
  • Knowledge of Uniform Guidance Laws, rules, regulations, and institution policies and procedures for compliance with federally funded projects.
  • Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), American Disabilities Act (ADA), Office of Special Education Programs, and Rehabilitation Services Administration, and policies.
