About The Position

The Trauma Support Specialist should be a positive, proactive, charismatic professional who builds relationships with youth, in a residential setting, to assist youth in avoiding crisis (CPEP) and to intervene in a trauma informed manner when crisis occurs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a related field required
  • 2 years of experience with a bachelor's degree required
  • Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree and limited permit, LCSW, LMSW, LMHP, LCAT, or LMFT preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build strong and supportive, therapeutic relationships with youth and their families that meet their needs and follow their treatment plan.
  • Resolve conflict, de-escalate crises, monitor for and address high-risk behaviors, maintain stabilization following a crisis episode, and prevent escalation of behavioral health symptoms.
  • Timely identify and effectively communicate all behavioral, emotional or medical needs with consented providers that are involved in the youth's care.
  • Confer regularly with the program supervisor, licensed professional, and program director as needed on each child's progress.
  • Providers must collaborate with child/youth, family members, and other involved service providers to provide comprehensive care.
