Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Trauma Registrar, you will accurately abstract and enter data from patient records into the Trauma Patient Registry. Your meticulous work ensures a consistent and reliable trauma database, vital for program evaluation.Every day you will abstract data from complex patient records, applying AIS and ICD-10 injury coding for accurate entry. You'll work closely with the Trauma Registry Supervisor and Trauma Program Manager, ensuring database integrity and quality.To be successful, you will be self-motivated, with meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy. Strong proficiency in AIS and ICD-10 coding, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to data quality are essential.
Requirements
- High School GED High School Diploma and Three + years experience in a medical setting
- Experience in ICD-10 coding anddata abstraction/entry
Nice To Haves
- Associates Other and Emergency Department, trauma, or surgical experience,
- One year TraumaRegistry, AIS injury coding
Responsibilities
- Responsible for Trauma Registry content including chart abstraction, data entry, and data brought in via interface
- Generates basic registry reports.
- Knowledgeable to medical terminology and able to identify complications and procedures in patient's medical record
- Codes injury severity for all traumatic injuries using multidisciplinary notes, pre-hospital information, radiology, operative and consultation reports
- Abstracts each patients medical record to accurately detail diagnosis, procedures, complications, and discharge status
- Maintain a working log of individual patients.
