About The Position

Emory University School of Medicine’s Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking a full-time Trauma Radiologist to read high volume, high acuity trauma cases at Grady Memorial Hospital, a renowned Level 1 Trauma hospital. This role also serves as the Clinical Site Director for the Division of Emergency and Trauma Imaging. The position involves a hybrid schedule with on-site day and afternoon teaching shifts, and remote early overnight shifts. No overnight work is required unless desired. The Clinical Site Director will oversee clinical operations, lead workflow improvements, and serve as the primary liaison to the Trauma Service, coordinating peer review activities for trauma center accreditation. Clinical coverage will predominantly be for Grady Memorial Hospital, with potential for shifts covering other Emory hospitals. The primary clinical scope involves trauma imaging (CT Head/C-Spine/Face, CTA Trauma CAP, CTA Runoffs, XR) working overlapping shifts with other faculty. The role utilizes Sectra PACS/EPIC/RadAI and AI tools, with virtual communication via Microsoft Teams. A new compensation package includes a competitive base salary increase, a stipend, annual academic incentive bonus, professional development fund, and retirement contribution.

Requirements

  • ABR Board-certified/eligible
  • Eligible to obtain an unrestricted Georgia medical license
  • Residency in the state of GA
  • Interest in trauma imaging
  • Strong clinical skills in multiple modalities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency setting
  • Ability to work well in collaboration with other radiologists

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain clinical operations within the ETI reading room at the Grady campus.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology (IT) and other support teams to ensure efficient and reliable workflow.
  • Lead the implementation of workflow improvements and operational changes.
  • Effectively communicate updates, policies, and best practices to ETI faculty.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Trauma Service, fostering collaboration on clinical and operational initiatives.
  • Coordinate peer review activities related to American College of Surgeons (ACS) trauma center accreditation and reaccreditation efforts.
  • Provide clinical coverage predominantly for Grady Memorial Hospital.
  • Potentially cover traditional emergency radiology shifts for Emory hospitals.
  • Perform trauma imaging (CT Head/C-Spine/Face, CTA Trauma CAP, CTA Runoffs, XR).
  • Work overlapping clinical shifts with ETI faculty, emergency neuroradiologists, body imagers, and dedicated overnight trauma radiologists.
  • Participate in both clinical and non-clinical divisional activities, including teaching and trainee supervision.
