About The Position

This role provides crisis intervention, advocacy, and counseling services to survivors and their families affected by domestic violence, rape/sexual assault, and witnessed violence. The position involves emergency response via hotline, legal and medical advocacy during daytime hours, with rotation coverage for nights, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing safety plans, completing documentation, liaising with other providers, and reporting statistics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Counseling or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience working with individuals, groups, and families or equivalent life/work experience.
  • Driving in the community is a requirement of this position; please ensure you have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with victims and/or criminal justice system is desirable.
  • Bilingual Spanish/Portuguese preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, individual, family, and group counseling to survivors and significant others affected by domestic violence, rape/sexual assault, as well as support to children who witnessed violence.
  • Provide emergency response to hotline callers, legal advocacy and medical advocacy during daytime hours as well as be on rotation coverage for nights, weekends and holiday shifts.
  • Conduct assessments; develop safety plans, complete required documentation
  • Liaison with other area providers.
  • Maintains and reports on funder's quarterly and annual statistics.
