About The Position

As the Trauma Injury Prevention and Outreach Coordinator at Howard University Hospital, you will design, lead, and continually evolve our Trauma Injury Prevention Program — a cornerstone offering of the only DC Level 1 Trauma Center on the campus of a Historically Black University. Reporting to the Director of Trauma Services, you will translate trauma data and community insight into impactful prevention programming, public education, and outreach that reaches youth, families, and partners across the District and the broader Washington, DC region. You will be the public face of HUH’s injury prevention work — designing curricula, leading workshops and health fairs, building partnerships with community organizations, securing grant funding, and ensuring our program meets the requirements of our Level 1 Trauma Center designation. If you are a public health, social work, or nursing professional with a passion for community-driven prevention and a track record of turning data into action, this is your opportunity to make a measurable difference in the lives of people most affected by traumatic injury.
