About The Position

The Trauma Informed, Restorative Justice Facilitator (RJ) will be responsible for the delivery of direct services to clients and necessary indirect services for program development. This role involves promoting Trauma Sensitive / Restorative Justice Practices and acting as a liaison and ambassador for the program.

Requirements

  • Possession of a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral or social science (social welfare, sociology, psychology, counseling and guidance, social work, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of trauma and its impact on youth.
  • Trained in (or willing to be trained in) Restorative Practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct restorative conversations with referred students at school.
  • Provide re-entry conversations with student, parent, and climate and culture specialists.
  • Run and/or supervise peace circles within the school.
  • Promote Trauma Sensitive / Restorative Justice Practices; acting as a liaison and an ambassador for the program by promoting the program principles.
  • Prepare case notes and written reports as required. Document all client services.
  • Attend all mandatory in-services, trainings and staff meetings.
  • Work in collaborative team efforts with other local agencies, schools, Lake County Probation and the Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Present to outside agencies and community groups as needed/directed.
  • Assume other tasks as assigned.
