About The Position

Responsible for the safe, timely and efficient movement of patients throughout the hospital.

Requirements

• Active AHA BLS Certification
• Knowledge of proper body mechanics.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Flexible schedule.
• Ability to work rotating weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Transporting experience preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transporting patients via stretcher and wheelchair to and from destination using safe transfer techniques.
• Works with nursing staff to determine the safest way to transport patient.
• Cleans and prepares stretchers between procedures.
• Monitors, logs, and restocks O2 supplies.
• Calls the patient by name, reads patient arm band to verify the account number before transporting patient, and works with nursing staff to check on oxygen needs.
• Brings medical record of patient when transporting for the imaging technologist to review.
• Maintains a clean, safe, orderly work area to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patient at all times.
