About The Position
St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for an Patient Transporter to join our team! This role involves transporting patients within the Medical Center, observing for and reporting safety hazards, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients during transport. The Transporter will also assist with lifting patients, cleaning wheelchairs, keeping an incident log, and performing other assigned duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/Equivalent
- CPR Certification - issued by AHA
- Fingerprint & Child Abuse History Clearance (completed in onboarding if offered the position)
Responsibilities
- Transports patients within the Medical Center.
- Observes for and reports safety hazards and broken vehicles to the Lead Transporter for immediate repair.
- Transports patients on stretchers, beds and wheelchairs from one area of the hospital to designated area within the hospital campus, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient being transported.
- Promptly reports any concerns of patients and/or happenings during transport to appropriate personnel.
- Cooperatively assists in lifting patients in and out of bed as requested, exercising proper lifting techniques.
- Cleans wheelchairs and ensures each area has an adequate number.
- Keeps incident log of transports.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
