As a Transporter, you will be responsible for maintaining patient safety during transport to and from ancillary areas, as well as upon return to the unit. This role requires careful positioning of patients, considering their individual needs such as impairment, skin conditions, pain, size, and age. The Transporter must be able to perform CPR and emergency measures, follow patient safety alerts (especially fall precautions), and properly apply brakes on wheelchairs and stretchers. A critical part of the role is completing a hand-off communication with every transport, including alerting receiving staff of the patient's arrival. Assistance should be obtained when needed.
