Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • BCLS on hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

  • EMT, CA CNA Certificate preferred.
  • 6 months or more experience in an acute care setting as a transporter or nurse assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe and timely transport of patients to and from patient care units and hospital departments, this includes admits and discharges and transport of deceased patients to the morgue.
  • Picks up specimens from the Out Patient Lab and the hospital nursing units and delivers them to the In-patient Lab.
  • Locates, monitors and maintains transport equipment in designated areas within the hospital.
  • Supports the Volunteers after regular hours as needed, by transporting equipment to/from Central Supply, medical records, x-rays, and lab reports.
  • Provides for patient advocacy and safety through effective/collegial communication with other staff.
