This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. As a step towards this vision, Blue Origin is building the next generation of lunar landers.In this role you will work as a System Integrator within the System Engineering Team on the lunar lander, focusing on the integration of the communications subsystem. You will lead cross-functional trade studies, run integrated analyses, and define interfaces that impact the design and integration of the spacecraft. This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building the sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface. Requirements

  • B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical subject area
  • Deep technical knowledge in the Communications subsystem
  • Highly knowledgeable of systems engineering practices, integration processes, and mission/safety critical systems
  • Experience analyzing link budgets
  • Strong ability and desire to analyze complex systems and deliver solutions to results-oriented problems
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment

Nice To Haves

  • Successful candidates typically have 5-12 years of relevant experience
  • M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Electrical, or related technical subject area
  • RF systems integration experience including setting up, calibrating, and troubleshooting both optical and RF communication systems
  • Deep technical knowledge in multiple subsystems
  • Experience with human-rated spacecraft
  • Experience with full spacecraft design life cycle
  • Experience with MBSE methods and tools including SysML
  • Experience with requirements definition and management, preferably using Jama
  • Experience with software tools such as SINDA/FLUINT, MATLAB/Simulink, Creo, Jama, Cameo, Confluence, and JIRA

Responsibilities

  • Act as the negotiator between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests to ensure the optimization of the spacecraft
  • Contribute to or lead architecture studies, concept development, ICD development, verification planning, vehicle integration, and operations support
  • Manage requirements development, definition, and maturity
  • Develop interface control documents (ICDs)
  • Generate Concept of Operations (ConOps)
  • Coordinate constraints and conflicting requirements across multiple disciplines
  • Ensure coordination of design changes and associated impacts across subsystems
  • Identify program risks and associated mitigations
