About The Position

This position is a rotational shift anywhere from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM. The Wheelchair Van/Stretcher/Ambulatory Rider accurately secures all wheelchairs and stretchers in vans. Properly operates the lifts on the vans and is able to operate all vehicles in the transport fleet.

Requirements

• Must have current valid driver’s license.
• Must be 21 years of age as per PA PUC requirement.
• Ability to read, write, and understand oral communication.
• Keeps neat/legible written records.
• Follows universal precautions and utilizes proper body mechanics.
• Is able to make timely decisions.
• Must be able to operate communication radios in all vans.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Maintains CPR or BCLS, and First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs all paperwork and documentation.
• Identifies patient by asking patient to state name and date of birth prior to any treatment.
• Keeps familiar with equipment.
• Notifies proper authorities when applicable.
• Performs safe operation of vehicles and knows how to properly operate the lifts in the vans.
• Accurately secures wheelchairs in vans.
• Accurately secures stretchers in vans.
• Accurately secures safety belts on patients.
• Keeps familiar in the proper lifting, securing, and moving techniques of stretchers.
• Is able to perform CPR and basic first aid and to recognize an emergency situation.
• Vehicle transport.
