JMT's Construction Management Team is seeking a Transportation Technician IV to serve as a lead inspector for transportation construction projects in North Carolina. Statewide opportunities are available. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. This position is available in multiple locations within North Carolina.

Requirements

• TN visa classification eligibility (for immigration sponsorship)
• Experience in transportation construction projects
• Ability to supervise and maintain subordinate inspection staff
• Proficiency in measuring and tracking quantities of pay items
• Skill in gathering and maintaining record documents (material certifications, testing reports, daily diaries)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with various stakeholders
• Ability to resolve field issues

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection of contractor’s operations on a variety of transportation projects including roadway and bridge construction to verify conformance to plans and specifications
• Supervise and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout construction of the project
• Measure and track quantities of pay items
• Gather and maintain record documents including material certifications, testing reports, and inspector’s daily diaries
• Interact with the public, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries and resolve field issues
• Perform other related duties as assigned
