About The Position
Provides safe, effective and efficient preventive and corrective maintenance to all Family Dollar Transportation equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience in heavy-duty commercial truck and trailer maintenance.
- Must have a roll around type tool chest and all hand tools to perform assigned mechanic’s work.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Current Air Brakes Certification and experience, knowledge & skills to complete semi-annual/ periodic inspections are required.
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Some formal equipment maintenance training from a Technical School.
Responsibilities
- Performs all necessary repairs to all systems, sub-systems and components of company trailers.
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections on company yard trucks.
- Identifies warranty opportunities and works to maximize Family Dollar claims.
- Coaches/ Assists Class C Technicians.
- Performs periodic equipment inspections, inbound equipment inspections and PM follow up work.
- Assists in maintaining an accurate parts inventory system.
- Assists in performing other maintenance-related activities, as needed.
- Follows safety procedures and guidelines.
- Maintains an organized work area and promotes a safe working environment.
- Follows all Company policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
