JMT is recognized as #45 on Engineering News-Record’s list of the Top 500 Design Firms. The Construction Management Team at JMT is looking for a Transportation Technician I to join their team. This role involves applying standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction, ensuring quality, safety, and conformance to project plans and specifications. The position is located in the Hendersonville, North Carolina area, with statewide opportunities also available. Please note that immigration sponsorship or support (e.g., H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not offered for this position, with the exception of candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. This role has multiple openings within North Carolina, and specific location details can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview process.
Requirements
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection of contractor’s operations on a variety of transportation projects including roadway and bridge construction to verify conformance to plans and specifications.
- Performs routine material testing.
- Measure and track quantities of pay items.
- Gathers and maintains record documents including material certifications, testing reports, and inspector’s daily diaries.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
