The Construction Management Team at JMT is looking for a Transportation Technician I to conduct inspections of ongoing activities during and after construction, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to plans and specifications for transportation projects in North Carolina. Statewide opportunities are available. Please note that immigration sponsorship or support (e.g., H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not provided for this role, with the exception of candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. This position is open in various locations within North Carolina, and details can be discussed with the hiring manager during an interview.
Requirements
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection of contractor’s operations on a variety of transportation projects including roadway and bridge construction to verify conformance to plans and specifications.
- Performs routine material testing.
- Measure and track quantities of pay items.
- Gathers and maintains record documents including material certifications, testing reports, and inspector’s daily diaries.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
