About The Position

The Transportation Technician is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments, activities, and other approved locations. This role ensures resident comfort, safety, and timely arrival while maintaining compliance with facility policies and applicable transportation regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in transportation, healthcare, or customer service preferred

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to scheduled appointments, outings, and facility-related activities
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair and mobility support as needed
• Ensure proper securement of wheelchairs, stretchers, and safety restraints
• Maintain accurate transportation logs, schedules, and documentation
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, scheduling, and families regarding transportation needs and updates
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections (fuel level, cleanliness, maintenance needs) and report any issues promptly
• Ensure vehicles are clean, sanitary, and stocked with required supplies
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, families, and staff
