About The Position

Minneapolis Glass in Brooklyn Park, MN is hiring a hands-on Transportation Supervisor to join our Glass Operations Team. This role involves leading our delivery operations team, managing transportation schedules, optimizing delivery routes, and overseeing a fleet to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable service to customers. The ideal candidate will apply their DOT and transportation safety knowledge in supervising a skilled team of Drivers at a rapidly growing company. This is a supervisory position within a custom glass fabrication & construction company.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in transportation, logistics, warehouse, or delivery operations.
  • 3 years of transportation scheduling, route planning, or dispatch operations.
  • Solid knowledge of DOT and transportation safety regulations.
  • Proficient with computers and inventory/transportation management software and systems including GPS.
  • Experience in managing vehicle maintenance programs and scheduling transportation.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the work, including the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must have a valid license.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Accountable and willing to take the initiative to solve problems.
  • Eager to teach others, organized, and self-motivated.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates/Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Current CDL or prior CDL driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing 5-7 drivers to achieve strong safety, customer service, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Proactively engaging in anticipating problems and finding solutions.
  • Managing all transportation scheduling.
  • Optimizing delivery routes to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Managing the fleet of 15 CDL and non-CDL vehicles, including vehicle preventative maintenance, repairs, and scheduling drivers for efficiency, safety, and compliance with all DOT regulations.
  • Ensuring product is received and loaded according to schedule using business processes and inventory/transportation management software.
  • Ensuring customers receive their quality glass product on time via will-call or delivery.
  • Creating a healthy and open work environment by being a role model and ensuring company vision and core values are lived.
  • Communicating effectively to form strong relationships with customers, vendors, and the team.
  • Championing continuous improvement for Minneapolis Glass.
