About The Position

This position is for a Transportation Supervisor based onsite at our Conklin, NY facility. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In this role, the Transportation Supervisor will oversee and support a team of approximately 35 drivers, including participating in an on-call rotation to ensure operational coverage. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and excels at scheduling and coordinating daily transportation operations. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential, along with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel to support reporting, scheduling, and operational analysis. The Transportation Supervisor provides day to day oversight within the Transportation department by reviewing performance, ensuring compliance, and resolving driver issues.

Requirements

Demonstrated ability to stay organized and work with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
Good computer skills, including MS Office Suite, scheduling software, and routing software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of driver safety and DOT compliance requirements.
Ability to motivate and develop employees.
Associate's degree with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in transportation or a related role, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in the food industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee, evaluate, and ensure ELD performance while working with the ELD Coordinator to resolve any issues.
Communicate, review, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations; maintain updated logs for driver review.
Resolve driver issues and needs, both on and off the road.
Review backhaul assignments and make necessary adjustments to routing or delivery plans.
Coordinate time off requests with appropriate management personnel.
Ensure driver documentation is completed accurately on a daily basis.
Collaborate with Logistics to establish and optimize efficient routing.
Review the communication log and address any open issues daily.
Analyze driver performance and provide recommendations to appropriate personnel.
Assist the Transportation Manager in carrying out supervisory responsibilities, including directing Dispatchers and resolving departmental personnel issues.
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
