About The Position

This position exists for the coordination, oversight, supervision and scheduling of drivers to provide transportation service to residents and employees riding in company vehicles, such as the shuttle or the buses. Manages, in partnership with the FM Department and Life Enrichment, to ensure the safety and proper operation of the campus vehicles. Coordinates the daily shuttle and buses that provides transportation to and from campus for employees and residents. Transports residents and staff. Assists residents in and out of the vehicle and to the point of destination. Renders emergency assistance if required. Coordinates with the FM Department the weekly checks of vehicles to ensure all mechanical functions and safety aspects of the vehicles are operational and safe. Performs safety inspections on all vehicles prior to use and reports any problems. Maintains cleanliness of vehicles. Collaborates with Human Resources and FM Director in the hiring and qualification of staff. Responsible for ensuring that DOT regulations are complied with, if applicable, and that drivers are properly licensed and certified through the organization’s DOT compliance program. Monitors and complies with all vehicle inspection schedules, maintenance and warranty schedules and adheres to all policies and procedures pertaining to campus transportation. Reports vehicle damage and accidents immediately. Coordinates with FM department on preventive maintenance and unscheduled vehicle repairs needed to ensure safety and proper operation of all vehicles and equipment. Maintains mileage and service schedule records. Performs various errands and other duties as assigned by Life Enrichment Director.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • CDL license, if applicable for certain vehicles that fall under DOT regulations
  • Previous experience being a lead driver
  • Related driving experience and routine vehicle maintenance experience required
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license and a safe and clear driving record
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments, residents, families, and outside vendors, both verbally and written
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions and follow safety practices
  • Ability to anticipate the residents’ needs
  • Comfortable managing a dynamic transportation schedule and solving last-minute challenges
  • Must complete any state-required training or have a current state certification
  • If a certified CDL driver under DOT regulations, must meet criteria to successfully certify under DOT
