About The Position

In this 1st Shift leadership role, you'll support a department of 50 drivers across five domicile locations, working alongside an experienced leadership team to keep operations running safely and efficiently. This role is within Lineage Foodservice Solutions (LFS), supporting a Last Mile Distribution Warehouse. You will oversee approximately 475 deliveries each week, a support team of 2 Dispatchers, 2 Clerks, and 2 Yard Jockeys, and daily transportation operations and driver support. This role also includes shared on-call responsibilities for emergency situations with the Transportation Manager and fellow Supervisor. The Transportation Supervisor provides day-to-day oversight within the Transportation department by reviewing performance, ensuring compliance, and resolving driver issues.

Requirements

Demonstrated ability to stay organized and work with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
Good computer skills, including MS Office Suite, scheduling software, and routing software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of driver safety and DOT compliance requirements.
Ability to motivate and develop employees.
Associate's degree with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in transportation or a related role, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee, evaluate, and ensure ELD performance while working with the ELD Coordinator to resolve any issues.
Communicate, review, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations; maintain updated logs for driver review.
Resolve driver issues and needs, both on and off the road.
Review backhaul assignments and make necessary adjustments to routing or delivery plans.
Coordinate time off requests with appropriate management personnel.
Ensure driver documentation is completed accurately on a daily basis.
Collaborate with Logistics to establish and optimize efficient routing.
Review the communication log and address any open issues daily.
Analyze driver performance and provide recommendations to appropriate personnel.
Assist the Transportation Manager in carrying out supervisory responsibilities, including directing Dispatchers and resolving departmental personnel issues.
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
