The Transportation Supervisor provides day to day oversight within the Transportation department by reviewing performance, ensuring compliance, and resolving driver issues. Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to stay organized and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Good computer skills, including MS Office Suite, scheduling software, and routing software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of driver safety and DOT compliance requirements.
  • Ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Associate's degree with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in transportation or a related role, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the food industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, evaluate, and ensure ELD performance while working with the ELD Coordinator to resolve any issues.
  • Communicate, review, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations; maintain updated logs for driver review.
  • Resolve driver issues and needs, both on and off the road.
  • Review backhaul assignments and make necessary adjustments to routing or delivery plans.
  • Coordinate time off requests with appropriate management personnel.
  • Ensure driver documentation is completed accurately on a daily basis.
  • Collaborate with Logistics to establish and optimize efficient routing.
  • Review the communication log and address any open issues daily.
  • Analyze driver performance and provide recommendations to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist the Transportation Manager in carrying out supervisory responsibilities, including directing Dispatchers and resolving departmental personnel issues.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
