About The Position

Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) is seeking a Transportation Specialist to join their team. MHC was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and has since expanded its services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee. Their sole purpose is to support and treat those challenged with serious mental illness and poverty. MHC is based out of Nashville and serves several communities across middle and East Tennessee with satellite offices in Antioch, Gallatin, Dickson, Columbia, Cleveland, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Memphis. This role is ideal for someone interested in joining a caring, collaborative, innovative, and energizing team.

Requirements

  • Must have F Endorsement.
  • Must inspect assigned vehicle at the beginning of work shift and complete vehicle inspection form.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a legible and timely manner.
  • Respond expediently to all communication with office.
  • Responsible for managing route, which includes calling consumers prior to leaving the office and planning route effectively.
  • Attend all mandatory in-services, continuing education and annual health requirements.
  • Comply with all Corporate Compliance policies, practices and procedures.
  • Comply with all OSHA and safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Will be compliant with the relevant regulations concerning the privacy and security of consumer’s protected health information (PHI) as established by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  • Follow all policies and procedures set by the Agency.

Responsibilities

  • Transport consumers to and from designated appointments.
  • Transport medications to be delivered to consumers.
  • Communicate with the team regarding consumer concerns and/or transportation issues for the consumer.
  • Attend team, department and Agency meetings as required.
  • Maintain the MHC vehicles in optimal condition and report any concerns to the Transportation Supervisor.
  • Inspect assigned vehicle at the beginning of work shift and complete vehicle inspection form.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a legible and timely manner.
