About The Position
NORA, the Nationwide Organ Recovery Transport Alliance, partners with Organ Procurement Organizations, Transplant Centers, Hospitals, Living Donor Networks, and Laboratories across the nation. We specialize in executing a seamless “One Call Solution” for Air and Ground Organ Recovery Transportation, ensuring optimal efficiency and reliability throughout the process. NORA is actively recruiting part-time, on-call Organ Transport Drivers to join our mission-driven team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the organ transplant community. Drivers are responsible for collecting organ storage containers and transporting medical teams, organs, tissues, tissue donors, and supplies using NORA vehicles for both emergency and non-emergency organ procurement transportation.
Requirements
- Must be at least 25 years of age or older
- Must be able to report to location within 30–35 minutes of transport assignment location to be able to pick up assigned vehicle
- Acceptable state driving record verified through DMV, reviewed annually
- Ability to work 24-hour on-call shifts
- Professional, service-oriented approach
- Successful background and drug screening; criminal charges and convictions may be considered if substantially related to the position
Nice To Haves
- Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVO) certified professional preferred
Responsibilities
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry organ storage containers
- Load devices such as the OrganOx liver machine into a vehicle utilizing a manual ramp or a mechanical lift
- Loading and unloading transport vehicles with organ storage containers and supplies
- Transporting medical teams, organs, tissues, tissue donors, and supplies safely and efficiently
- Operating NORA vehicles (SUVs)
- Assemble, inventory and photograph supplies
- Complete verification process with Dispatch prior to deployment of equipment
- Maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer service throughout all transports
