Burcham Hills is an upscale senior living retirement community located in the backyard of Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. We currently have a vacancies for Transportation Specialist-Driver to work a Part-Time schedule with weekend availability. In this position an Transportation Specialist-Driver will be scheduled to work around 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday with afternoon availability. In this position, you will provide transportation to residents for approved appointments. Provide regular maintenance of assigned vehicle (including cleaning and oil changes). Organize and manage the daily transportation schedule and in addition to but not limited to the following duties: Communicate daily with team regarding who is being transported to and from appointments. Propose schedule adjustments. Communicate with the assisted living, wellness, nurse, and Center for Health Rehab teams on scheduling appointments. Provide safe and efficient transportation to and from appointments for residents. Monitor resident transportation assistance needs and modify vehicle used or assistance provided. Provide/recommend adaptive devices for transport. Maintain regular, ongoing and timely records of contacts with residents and vehicle use. Documentation is expected to be per occurrence. Adhere to Burcham Hills Retirement Community policies and procedures regarding documentation of recreation services and vehicle use. Perform general cleaning and maintenance functions, including car washes, internal cleaning and timely oil changes. Communicate any other maintenance that is needed. Inspect vehicles at the onset of each shift for cleanliness and safety.
