About The Position

As a Transportation Security Officer: Airport - All shifts in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • 18+ Years of Age
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 20 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, travelers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations and actions according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entry and restricted areas, verify access permissions when required, and communicate with site contacts, employees, and/or first responders regarding security-related concerns.
  • Document incidents, daily activities, and notable observations in required reports, logs, and/or electronic systems with clear and professional communication.
