About The Position

Come join our awesome team as a Transportation Scheduler (Dispatcher) at the Senior CommUnity Care of Northern Kentucky PACE. We are offering great benefits and wonderful work environment! Senior CommUnity Care of Northern Kentucky is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare affiliate of the Volunteers of America parent organization. Pay: $17.00-$20.00 based on experience This position is Full time - Monday-Friday- Occasional weekends

Requirements

  • Medical/Wheelchair Van or Bus Driving experience!!
  • Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Driver’s License in state of hire.
  • A minimum of one year's experience in working with the frail elderly.
  • Must be comfortable driving participants in the company vehicles; serves as a backup driven when needed.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Able to read and understand maps and routing information to navigate.
  • Able to handle information in a confidential manner at all times.
  • Able to deal professionally and diplomatically with people.
  • Must have good people skills.
  • Must be flexible, and able to function in stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements pertaining to the transportation industry.
  • Requires individual who can coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Serves as a backup driver when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely scheduling of transportation for Senior CommUnity Care (SCC) participants to and from the Day Center and/or appointments.
  • Responsible for scheduling outside medical appointments for the Senior CommUnity Care participants and providing notification of appointments with participants, their family and home care providers.
  • Responsible for communicating any safety or scheduling issues to the Transportation Director.
  • Ability to learn and utilize the PACE Care Scheduling Program to be able to gather information needed for timely and efficient individual transportation and home care schedules.
  • Considers the needs of the participant and requirements of the PACE Center. Communicates these changes to Transportation Director.
  • Develops schedules to limit employee overtime hours as much as possible.
  • Schedules Transportation for participants to and from the PACE Day Center, medical/specialist appointments, and activity outings. Also, schedules Transportation for last minute emergencies that arise.
  • Assists in scheduling vehicle maintenance and equipment to operate within manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Under the direction of the Transportation Director, functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team when appropriate.
  • Communicates with Transportation Director daily to be updated on participant conditions/ changes, plan of care changes, or Interdisciplinary Team requests.
  • Follows all Senior CommUnity Care policies and procedures and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety guidelines.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all company procedures, results, and information about participants, clients or families.
  • Handles potentially infectious specimens with appropriate biohazard precautions, and practices Universal Precautions.
