About The Position

The primary function of this position is to schedule and sequence routes in a timely, accurate and efficient manner using computerized programs. This role is crucial for building a career with a company that’s leading the foodservice industry. The position involves utilizing multi-stop route planning software to balance case loads per trailer by size and weight of product and pallets to be loaded, building cost-effective routes while maintaining customer needs, and working closely with Sales and Warehouse Departments to determine delivery feasibility. The role also requires preparing various reports on a daily basis, such as route changes, sequence changes, and new customer requests, and maintaining routing software system parameters.

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
• Must have computer skills – data entry, general report generation, spreadsheet design, data manipulation, mainframe downloads.
• Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
• Must possess the ability to resolve a variety of issues of fairly non-routine nature with some independence.
• Must have the ability to work scheduled hours (100% on site) and any required overtime.
• A minimum of 2 years in related environment.
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and sequence routes in a timely, accurate and efficient manner using computerized programs.
• Utilize multi-stop route planning software to route trucks by matching customer orders to appropriate loads assigned to trucks.
• Utilize routing software to balance case loads per trailer by size and weight of product and pallets to be loaded.
• Build cost-effective routes while maintaining customer needs.
• Work closely with Sales and Warehouse Departments to determine delivery feasibility.
• Prepare various reports on a daily basis, i.e. route changes request, sequence change requests, new customer request, etc.
• Maintain routing software system parameters (RoadNet, Decartes, DRP - Distribution Route Planning Software).
