Requirements

  • Pursuing or recently completed an associate or bachelor’s degree in real estate, Business, Urban Planning, Geography, Public Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Positive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to create and interpret graphs and understand statistical analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internships, coursework, or related experiences are a plus, but not required.
  • Valid driver's license preferred to support business travel requirements.
  • Real Estate license is a plus but not required.
  • Interest in pursuing professional right-of-way or real estate certifications is encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Perform land title research, property acquisition support, appraisal coordination, and relocation-related activities for highway, airport, public facility, and private-sector projects.
  • Assist with project documentation, property ownership research, data collection, file organization, and other administrative and technical support tasks.
  • Actively seek guidance, apply feedback, and contribute to project success while developing industry knowledge and professional skills.
  • Gain exposure to real estate acquisition, relocation, and right of way processes.
  • Assist with basic technical and administrative tasks under supervision.
  • Learn industry standards, regulations, and project delivery procedures.
  • Participate in quality review activities and develop attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn new skills and concepts.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and project staff.
  • Ask questions, seek clarification, and apply feedback to improve performance.
  • Participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Support colleagues with project-related tasks as assigned.
  • Set up and maintain project files.
  • Conduct property ownership and public records research.
  • Perform data entry, spreadsheet updates, and database maintenance.
  • Assist in the preparation of draft offer packages and supporting documentation.
  • Compile background information for valuations, reports, and technical memoranda.
  • Organize project correspondence and records.
  • Research tax records and property sales information.
  • Develop an understanding of project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Learn how individual tasks contribute to overall project success.
  • Complete assigned tasks within established timelines with guidance from supervisors.
  • Gain familiarity with professional and ethical standards.
  • Gain familiarity with the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act (URA).
  • Gain familiarity with state right of way manuals and procedures.
  • Gain familiarity with real estate and acquisition industry best practices.
  • Attend project meetings and observe client interactions.
  • Assist with meeting preparation and documentation.
