About The Position

At Apex, we design and deliver transportation projects that improve how communities move and connect. Our team works on roadway, drainage, multimodal, bridge-related, and utility infrastructure projects for FDOT, counties, municipalities, and other public agencies throughout Florida. We're looking for a Transportation Project Manager who enjoys leading complex projects, building client relationships, mentoring staff, and solving real-world engineering challenges. This role provides the opportunity to manage projects from pursuit through design, permitting, bidding, and construction while working with a highly collaborative team of engineers, designers, and technical specialists.

Requirements

Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license.
8+ years of transportation engineering experience.
Experience managing projects for FDOT, counties, municipalities, or other public-sector clients.
Strong understanding of FDOT standards, project delivery processes, and transportation design.
The ability to lead teams, develop staff, and build long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and lead multidisciplinary project teams responsible for delivering transportation infrastructure projects.
Work closely with FDOT and local agencies, coordinate with utilities and permitting authorities.
Oversee project budgets and schedules.
Guide technical staff through successful project delivery.
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and client communication.
Lead project delivery teams through design, permitting, bidding, and construction support.
Oversee quality control efforts and technical reviews.
Support business development, proposals, interviews, and client relationship management.
