Dewberry is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer in their Denver, CO office to support strategic growth in the transportation market sector. This role offers expedited growth and a critical part in Colorado's transportation efforts. The candidate will leverage market intelligence for new client and project opportunities within a growing department, working on all phases of transportation projects for public sector clients. Projects include road alignments, drainage systems, utility relocations, and contract document preparation. The position may also involve work with Dewberry's California market. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, uses existing market knowledge for growth, and aims to become an internal task leader. Requirements

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within one year of date of hire.
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering
  • Experience with Civil 3D and/or MicroStation InRoads
  • Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and review staff
  • Ability to compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
  • The successful candidate must be flexible, technologically savvy, and client focused.
  • Strong capabilities in Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite, ProjectWise, PMWeb, and eConstruction Tools
  • Knowledge of CDOT Design Manuals and Specifications
  • Ability to work across CDOT Regions

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated CDOT experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Planning and design of state and local transportation infrastructure, including roadway design, intersections, interchanges, utilities, drainage, stormwater management, and coordination with other disciplines.
  • Work on all phases of Transportation Projects for a variety of public sector clients.
  • Engage in Dewberry’s California market which is the Western Region’s hub for transportation.
  • Utilize existing market knowledge to grow within a local production team.
  • Become an internal task leader of the growth initiative.
  • Apply the latest technology to assist clients in solving their most challenging problems.
  • Work on innovative and complex projects at the forefront of the industry.
  • Meet project budgets.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and review staff.
  • Compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication.
  • Handle multiple concurrent projects.
