About The Position

Kimley-Horn is looking for Planning students to join our Reston, Virginia (VA) office on the Transportation team! This is not a remote position. The intern will solve complex problems, support project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to help bring our clients’ visions for the future built environment to life. They will assist with a variety of transportation planning efforts, including Safety Action Plans, campus masterplans, parking and curbside management programs, and mobility planning. The role involves supporting project analysis and deliverables using GIS, Microsoft Word, and Excel, as well as analyzing data and information to help identify trends, evaluate alternatives, and support project recommendations. The intern will also participate in public, client, and project team meetings, using strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly communicate technical information and gain exposure to both the technical and client-facing sides of transportation planning.

Requirements

In the process of receiving a Planning Degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program in of the following majors: City and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Or Other Related Major

Responsibilities
