About The Position

The City of Springfield is seeking a Transportation Planner to help modernize Public Works project delivery through stronger capital program management, infrastructure prioritization, funding coordination, and performance tracking. This position will work closely with Public Works teams to improve project accountability, and help guide investments that improve safety, mobility, and long term community growth.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with specialization in Community or Transportation Planning, Engineering, Economics, Geography, or related field.
Two years of responsible related experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Proof of United States Citizenship/Authorization to Work in the United States as established by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 is a condition of employment.
Pre-employment drug testing is required.

Nice To Haves

A Master's Degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) membership or registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri is desired, but not required.
