About The Position

Freese and Nichols has a great entry-level Transportation Planning I opportunity for a current grad or May 2026 new grad to launch their professional career in our Dallas, TX or Tulsa, OK office. By planning and designing the infrastructure our society needs, working at Freese and Nichols means positively impacting the world around us. We plan, design, and manage infrastructure projects with client service and continuous improvement in mind. Our services include Transportation, Urban Planning, Water Resources, Water/Wastewater Engineering, Stormwater Engineering, and Program Management. Freese and Nichols offers a flexible work environment which includes options such as a hybrid work schedule with remote work up to 2 days per week and an alternative work schedule with every other Friday off. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning (transportation emphasis), or Traffic/Transportation Systems Planning by May 2026

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship with a private sector firm
  • Participation in a student organization such as a professional or technical society
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, GIS Mapping and social media

Responsibilities

  • Work in a collaborative environment as part of a multi-discipline team.
  • Collect, adjust, and correlate data and recognize discrepancies in results.
  • Perform various tasks including research, analysis, documentation, meeting preparation, and day-to-day client interface.
  • Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations.
  • Demonstrate ability to produce well-written reports and highly visual documents.
  • Support the planning team in public meeting facilitation and City Council meetings/public hearings.
  • Be willing to travel as needed to meet project commitments.
  • Perform project assignments within the scope of work and guidelines.
  • Responsible for personal timeliness, technical correctness, and coordination of project efforts contributed by technicians and/or drafting personnel working on the same project
