About The Position
The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is hiring seasonal Transportation Operations Technicians to support highway maintenance and winter operations in Bradford. This hands-on role involves a variety of tasks that keep Vermont’s roads safe and reliable, including repairing guardrails, patching pavement, ditching, clearing brush, and picking up litter. Seasonal staff also play a critical role in plowing and salting during winter weather events. Overtime may be required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- A valid driver's license is required
- Must live within reasonable proximity of assigned workstation
- Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for the successful completion of original probation
- Must complete all VTTC required coursework within six (6) months or be enrolled
- Participation in a random drug and alcohol-testing program is required prior to operation of vehicles or operating equipment
