That's WEIS! This position is responsible for ensuring all transportation department associates are properly trained in job duties, safety, and legal responsibilities. The role involves monitoring DOT hours for compliance, managing inbound/outbound shipments, and ensuring a safe work environment consistent with company standards. The supervisor will also maintain compliance with company policies, foster upward communication, and facilitate communication within and amongst various departments and external partners. This role includes training and coaching drivers, jockeys, and office staff, and may involve disciplinary action. Requirements

  • Ensures all transportation department associates are properly trained in job duties as well as safety and legal responsibilities.
  • Develop training materials as needed.
  • Monitor DOT hours as needed to ensure all routes are covered in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Ensure all associates have a fair opportunity to meet their scheduling and wage goals within company and department standards.
  • Proactively monitor and manage inbound/outbound shipments or products to our stores, distribution centers, and other 3rd party locations.
  • Ensure a safe work environment that is consistent with company safety and health standards.
  • Complies with distribution procedures as well as OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Creates an atmosphere in which upward communications is encouraged and motivate associates to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Ability to be flexible to changing business needs and react to those needs in a professional positive manner.
  • Facilitate communication within and amongst management, departments, Stores, Store Support Center, and Supply Chain.
  • Foster communication with other vendor partners.
  • Involved in training and coaching of drivers, jockeys, and office staff members.
  • This could include the facilitation of disciplinary action.
  • This position directly supervises drivers, jockeys, and office staff to carry out responsibilities in accordance with Weis Markets policies, DOT regulations, and applicable laws, with a focus on compliance.
