About The Position

SA Recycling is one of the largest scrap metal recyclers in the United States and is experiencing rapid growth. They are seeking an energetic and highly organized individual to join their team as an Office Administrator. This role provides general administrative and clerical support and requires computer skills, customer service experience, and familiarity with shipping and receiving. The ability to learn the operations of the scale, work independently, be flexible, and manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential. The position may involve intermittent work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and adherence to Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards is mandatory. Working hours are Monday through Friday and half-day Saturday.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Attendance is a must
  • 2+ years’ experience office assistant experience in a construction or industrial production yard or similar industry; previous scrap metal experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn industry specific software.
  • Must be able to pass credit check and Background
  • Must be able to pass Physical/Drug screen
  • All US applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general office administrative duties to include answering the telephone, processing paperwork, preparing and sending mail and packages, ordering office supplies, and other similar office duties.
  • Able to cross train in all aspects of Clerical duties, learn to operate the truck scale to efficiently weigh all inbound and outbound trucks and vehicles.
  • Enter and complete all required records and documentation of purchased scrap metal into the proper systems.
  • Calculate daily transactions using computerized programs and balance cash drawer at the end of the day.
  • Generate invoices, itemize lists and tickets noting materials and amounts due, verify weights, prices, and extensions.
  • Greet all visitors and ensure all have the required PPE for facility tours/inspections.
  • Assist current and potential customers with questions regarding the pricing of materials, the types of materials accepted, and maintenance of customer accounts.
  • Process outbound Bills of Lading and other required documentation for the drivers.
  • Assists with monthly closing reporting, and with inventory reconciliation as needed.
