About The Position

The Transportation Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the end‑to‑end inbound transportation operation supporting the HMGMA production line. This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on operational oversight, ensuring stable, on‑time, and cost‑efficient transportation performance. The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader who can manage budgets, contracts, customer relationships, and team performance—while also maintaining deep visibility into daily transportation activities such as dispatch, driver management, and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Experience in transportation, logistics, inbound supply
  • Strong expertise in cost analysis, budgeting, and transportation financial management
  • Proven experience managing carriers, contracts, and 3PL partners
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage on‑site transportation operations
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and crisis‑response skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, data analysis tools, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills for customer‑facing interactions
  • Ability to operate effectively in a high‑volume, time‑critical manufacturing environment
  • English proficiency for communication with customers and logistics partners

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in automotive OEM or Tier‑1 inbound logistics
  • Knowledge of MES, TMS, WMS, or other logistics systems
  • Experience with contract negotiation and vendor performance management
  • Background in business planning, budgeting, or operational strategy
  • Experience leading continuous improvement or cost‑reduction projects

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cost analysis, manage annual budgets, and identify cost‑reduction opportunities
  • Analyze operational data to improve efficiency and reduce logistics costs
  • Serve as the primary contact for OEM customers, ensuring service quality and timely issue resolution
  • Negotiate contracts, manage 3PL partners, evaluate performance, and enforce SLAs
  • Develop annual transportation plans, volume forecasts, and capacity strategies
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate transportation coordinators, dispatchers, and on‑site staff
  • Track KPIs, prepare executive reports, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and monitor daily/weekly delivery schedules aligned with production plans
  • Supervise dock, yard, system monitoring, and driver attendance to ensure smooth operations
  • Oversee dispatch planning, route efficiency, and real‑time adjustments
  • Respond to delays, shortages, or operational disruptions with immediate countermeasures
  • Work closely with production, quality, procurement, and suppliers to maintain delivery stability
  • Document incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Prepare transportation capacity and processes for production ramp‑ups
