About The Position

The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Transportation Department, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of transportation services across all locations. This role provides direct supervision of Drivers, leads safety and training initiatives, monitors compliance with company policies and applicable transportation regulations, and supports operational planning and performance. Working closely with the Transportation Director, the Transportation Manager promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and exceptional customer service while ensuring reliable transportation services for residents, participants, and staff.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in general studies, business management, or other related fields.
At least one year of experience working with the elderly or frail.
3-5 years of management experience.
Active driver's license in the State of Florida.
Active CPR Certification.
Valid vehicle insurance.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, preferred.
3-5 years of experience in transportation or logistics, preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensures all safety manuals, programs, policies, and practices are current, meet departmental needs, and are updated as appropriate.
Ensures compliance with all company, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and applicable local transportation regulations, policies, and procedures.
Works with the Transportation Director to develop and deliver new hire, recurrent, and mandatory training programs for transportation personnel and Designated Aides who drive company-owned vehicles, ensuring all staff is adequately trained and departmental safety and security standards are maintained.
Monitors outside training agencies to ensure training content is appropriate and aligns with MorseLife policies.
Provides ongoing safety training and performance evaluations for Drivers and conducts regularly scheduled Driver Safety Meetings.
Reviews and responds to all vehicle, passenger, and employee accidents/incidents, determining causes, preventability, and trends to improve future training and safety practices.
Assists the Transportation Director in managing day-to-day transportation operations across all locations.
Enforce departmental processes, procedures, and policies to ensure operational consistency and compliance.
Travel regularly between all locations to oversee operations, conduct training, and support staff.
Serves as a point of contact for staff regarding procedures, scheduling, and operational issues.
Assists with scheduling, route planning, resource allocation, and driving as needed.
Prepares reports on operational performance, training completion, and compliance metrics.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
