About The Position

The Transportation Manager - Field is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the transportation operations within a designated area, ensuring that all logistics processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves managing a team of drivers and logistics personnel, coordinating schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. The Transportation Manager will analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance service delivery and reduce costs. Additionally, this position requires effective communication with various stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal departments, to ensure seamless operations. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to enhance the overall efficiency of transportation services while maintaining high standards of safety and customer satisfaction.
The "Field" Transportation Manager is often in the yard, handling more yard production oversight, with greater exposure to safety concerns as that of the "Onsite" Transportation Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in transportation management or logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Analytical skills are crucial for interpreting transportation data and making informed decisions to improve efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills are necessary for liaising with various stakeholders and ensuring that all parties are aligned on transportation goals.
• Problem-solving skills will be utilized daily to address any operational challenges that arise and to implement effective solutions.
• Familiarity with logistics software will enhance the ability to streamline operations and track performance metrics.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with fleet management software and transportation management systems.

Responsibilities
