About The Position

The Transportation Logistics Manager is a hands-on operational leader responsible for managing daily operations, including dispatch, yard activities, driver scheduling, and fleet readiness. As part of the Transportation team, this role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of live nursery products while supporting seasonal business demands.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or operations.
  • 1–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards.
  • Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), routing systems, ERP tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations including dispatch, yard flow, driver scheduling, and equipment readiness.
  • Supervise and develop a team of drivers, dispatchers, loaders, yard personnel, and administrative staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Utilize TMS, ERP, and routing systems to plan and execute efficient delivery schedules aligned with business demand.
  • Ensure timely, damage-free delivery and recovery of live nursery product, racks, pallets, and containers from retail locations.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies for all personnel and equipment.
  • Monitor driver and KPIs including on-time delivery, damage rates, rack recovery, labor efficiency, and safety performance.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and coordinate timely repairs with fleet and maintenance teams.
  • Partner cross-functionally with growers, logistics, customer service, and retail teams to align transportation plans with supply and demand.
  • Manage relationships with third-party carriers, including onboarding, performance monitoring, and compliance.
  • Process and approve maintenance, leasing, and driver-related invoices accurately and on time.
  • Lead seasonal ramp-up and ramp-down planning, including staffing, equipment, and route adjustments.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall operational readiness.
  • Availability for flexible schedule changes based on business needs (including but not limited to seasonal demand and additional hours outside of the regular work schedule, such as weekends, nights, and holidays).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information or help as required.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
