About The Position

Wilson Elser is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Litigation Attorney to work on the firm’s representation of a large logistics services provider. The ideal candidate will have a strong background handling litigation cases, specifically within the transportation sector. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging cases, with talented colleagues, and provide sound counsel to our clients. This position offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement.

Requirements

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of Indiana
  • 3+ years of general litigation experience
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Sophisticated technical skills necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Ohio and/or Indiana licensure is a plus
  • Transportation and logistics, trucking, and related regulatory experience preferred
  • Deposition and law and motion experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision and guidance of senior attorneys, proactively manage a litigation caseload, helping oversee cases from beginning to end
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to transportation laws, regulations, and standards
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the claims and litigation processes.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients, demonstrating strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices, contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment.
